The Sport model is made of the same perforated and breathable, open cell structure as Supracor's other Stimulite cushions. The cushion's excellent breathability (as compared to other types of cushions) assists in the prevention of skin maceration. The Stimulite Sport also comes with a special stretch mesh sport cover, and a detached fire-retardant lining.

The Stimulite Sport is designed especially for use by wheelchair athletes during athletic competitions and training. Persons with a spinal cord injury (e.g., paraplegia, tetraplegia) who also participate in wheelchair sports events may benefit from this cushion's flat profile and light weight. These same features also make this cushion desirable for use by able-bodied individuals during prolonged seating engagements (e.g., airplane pilots, bus drivers, mail carriers, etc.).
